Today’s Scripture

22 The Lord’s love never ends;
his mercies never stop.
23 They are new every morning;
Lord, your loyalty is great.

— Lamentations 3:22–23 (NCV)

Today’s Encouragement

Lamentations 3:22–23 was written in the middle of deep sorrow, which makes its hope especially powerful. God’s compassion does not depend on an easy season. His mercies are “new every morning,” giving us reason to begin again because His faithfulness is greater than yesterday’s failure or today’s difficulty.

Inspirational Word

The declaration of God’s faithfulness in Lamentations is not spoken from a place of comfort. The book rises out of grief, loss, and devastation. That context matters because it shows us that biblical hope is not denial. Jeremiah can acknowledge pain and still remember the character of God.

Some mornings arrive carrying yesterday with them. Yesterday’s mistake. Yesterday’s disappointment. Yesterday’s argument. Yesterday’s grief. We wake up and feel as if nothing has changed. Yet Scripture reminds us that God’s compassion is renewed for us day after day.

You do not need to pretend yesterday did not happen. You may need to apologize, repair, grieve, or learn. But you also do not have to live as though God has run out of mercy. Today is another opportunity to walk faithfully. The God who was faithful yesterday has not become less faithful overnight.

Pause & Reflect

What do I need to stop carrying as though God has no mercy for today?

Today’s Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your compassion does not fail. Help me receive today as a new opportunity to trust You, obey You, and remember Your faithfulness. Amen.
