Today’s Encouragement
Matthew 11:28 is an invitation from Jesus to people who are weary and burdened. Christian rest is more than physical inactivity. It begins with coming to Christ, bringing Him the weight we were never meant to carry alone, and learning to live under His leadership instead of constant self-reliance.
Inspirational Word
We are often willing to admit that we are busy, but less willing to admit that we are burdened. We carry responsibilities, expectations, guilt, uncertainty, and the pressure to keep everything from falling apart. Jesus does not begin by telling weary people to try harder. He begins by inviting them to come to Him.
Rest begins with relationship. Jesus is not offering a technique separated from Himself. He is inviting tired people to come close. Some burdens still require action. There may be work to complete, conversations to have, appointments to keep, and responsibilities that cannot simply disappear. But we do not have to carry them as though everything depends entirely on us.
Today, identify what feels heaviest. Name it before Christ. Ask what is truly yours to carry and what you have picked up through fear, guilt, or the need to control. Then do the next faithful thing from a place of dependence rather than panic.
Pause & Reflect
What burden am I carrying as though everything depends on me?
Today’s Prayer
Jesus, I come to You with what is heavy. Teach me what to carry, what to release, and how to work from trust rather than exhaustion. Give my soul rest in You. Amen.
