Today’s Scripture
But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you.

Today’s Encouragement
James 1:5 encourages believers who lack wisdom to ask God. Wisdom is more than information; it is the ability to respond faithfully and rightly. When the next step is unclear, prayer for wisdom should accompany careful listening, Scripture, wise counsel, and a willingness to obey what God makes clear.
Inspirational Word
Not every difficult decision has an obvious answer. Sometimes several options look possible. Sometimes emotions are strong. Sometimes we simply do not know what to do next. James gives us a direct response: ask God for wisdom.
Wisdom is different from merely collecting more information. Information tells us what is happening. Wisdom helps us discern what faithfulness looks like in the middle of it. God may answer through Scripture, wise counsel, conviction, circumstances, or patient clarity over time.
But asking for wisdom also carries an implied willingness to follow it. We should not ask God to guide us while secretly insisting that He approve the path we already chose. Bring the decision honestly before Him. Ask Him to expose your motives, close doors that should remain closed, and give you courage to obey when the wise path is not the easiest one.
Pause & Reflect
Am I asking God for wisdom—or mainly asking Him to confirm what I already want?
Today’s Prayer
God, I need wisdom. Give me clarity, humility, patience, and courage. Help me recognize what is true and choose the path that honors You. Amen.
